The Atlantic Union Project – Strings Attached – Engineer, Sell The Heart and Shield Recordings

This song is taken from The Atlantic Union Project's ‘3,482 Miles’ EP, available on digital, CD and coloured vinyl LP, jointly released by Engineer Records (UK), Shield Recordings (EU) and Sell The Heart Records (US). Video recorded at Brighton Electric. This post-punk outfit’s members are all seasoned musicians who’ve been playing in hardcore bands for over 25 years. The aptly named group is formed by a core of veteran musicians from the UK collaborating with Craig Cirinelli (vocals) who lives in Boonton, NJ. Cirinelli’s lineage in other acts is long (Damn This Desert Air, Hidden Cabins, Elemae, World Concave). Not to be outdone, the UK contingent is equally impressive; David Gamage (guitar) played in Rydell, Couch Potatoes, Joeyfat and Come The Spring. Simon Goodrick (guitar) and Jamie Donbroski (drums) were both also in Come The Spring, as well as straight edge band Strength Alone, and Mark Wilkinson (bass) was in Come The Spring and Rydell, and before that, Rudedog and the BBMF’s. All that energy, accumulated knowledge and musical skill bursts out on The Atlantic Union Project’s upcoming 3,482 Miles EP. The EP’s title has a special meaning, referring to the distance between Cirinelli in Boonton, NJ, and where the rest of TAUP’s members live in Brighton, England. Cirinelli says about the lyrics for ‘Strings Attached’; “I recall the moment I began writing to this song, its melodic descending chord progression kicking in near the beginning, instantly playing out as an early chorus. It’s not always that I’ll write the chorus before I have the song’s verse theme playing out. This one jumped in front of me upon pressing play. Lyrically, the theme is fairly simple. One’s personal outlook compromised by a deepened depression. It’s the plight of being overly sensitive to what isn’t in your own hands, just the looming sense of being an emotional puppet. Ever feel weighed down by what’s going on in every direction around you? Empathy can be draining.” Written and recorded during the pandemic, with audio files between sent across the Atlantic, the resulting EP is a love letter to the hardcore music scene. Inspirations include all the greats, ranging from Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, and Descendents to Hot Water Music, Seaweed, and The Promise Ring. http://theatlanticunionproject.com https://www.facebook.com/theatlanticunionproject https://www.instagram.com/theatlanticunionproject/ https://x.com/taupband @theatlanticunionproject https://www.engineerrecords.com https://www.shieldrecordings.com https://www.selltheheartrecords.com

Abermals – Middle-Aged and Underpaid - Engineer Records & Memento Records

The first new song since 2022's full-length ‘Reasons to Travel’ album, ‘Middle-Aged and Underpaid’ sees Abermals trying to write a song that rocks but does so without any distorted guitars throughout. The song is an homage to Midwest emo and math rock with odd time signatures and twangy Lemonheads-infected pop. The lyrics deal with the realities of getting older, by now having surely passed the peak of youthful energy, but nevertheless keeping up good spirits. The message hasn't changed a bit: You Only Live Once! Written and arranged by Chris Späth Music by Abermals Recorded in January and February 2024 at Es Gremi and Studio Sa Bastida, Mallorca, Spain. Produced by Chris Späth https://linktr.ee/abermalsband https://www.engineerrecords.com Abermals are: Vocals and guitars – Chris Späth Bass – Enrique Alarcón Drums – Alberto Abad Additional vocals by Alberto, Enrique, Sergio and Miguel FSB Lyrics to ‘Middle-Aged and Underpaid’ every morning there’s a yearning never certain if I’m still burning time keeps turning and I'm still learning how the hell to manage my emotions I’m losing my mojo to you excavator chip chip away at the rocks we stand on I’m losing my mojo to you moneymaker scream in my ear and spit in my eye middle-aged and underpaid we’re still doing great! middle-aged and underpaid we’re still doing great! middle-aged and underpaid we’re still doing great! middle-aged and underpaid we’re still doing great!

The chaotic confrontation of a dreamlike paradise colliding with harsh urban landscapes reflects the inner conflict one goes through when dealing with loss. The video was made by Matti Pulju. Letterbombs’ are a Finnish emoviolence quartet, formed back in 2020. After multiple splits and eps, the band presents the fruit of their labour, their debut full-length, The World Is Cursed…, which is an 18-minute journey through the five stages of grief. Having worked with labels around the world, the band has gathered an international group of labels to spread the cure for misery globally. But when the day comes and my bubble bursts, I won't be me anymore. Just someone that I used to know. Reminiscing about the time we were dancing and drinking wine. Holding hands, bodies intertwined. That goodnight kiss pure dreamlike bliss that will last forever. We will last forever.

Flamsteed - Friday Monster - Engineer Records, Goldmine Records and Deal With Hate Records.

'Friday Monster' by Flamsteed is the new single taken from the album 'Truths On Demand' released by Engineer Records (UK), Goldmine Records (CAN), Music Junky (AT), Maybe Yes HC (ESP) and Deal With Hate Records (ESP). The song talks about an experience, probably just a dream; It’s a Friday night and a monster appears suddenly in your room. You’re totally paralysed but conscious at the same time. You’re trying to react, absolutely terrified - anything can happen. Finally you wake up, just glad to survive. Sleave - Clean - Engineer, Sell The Heart, Gunner, FIA & Sleepy Dog Records.

Sleave / Richmond, Virginia Alternative Rock, Punk, American Hardcore, Post Hardcore Sleave's new single 'Clean' is about taking off our rose coloured glasses and seeing the world a bit more honestly with age and experience. Realising that we've been painted a picture of reality that isn't accurate and acknowledging the frustration that comes along with this realisation. In seeing the world as it is, while recognising that we have very little control of things outside of ourselves, we can embrace our new found freedom and celebrate the little victories that spread throughout our life like breadcrumbs. Why put undue pressure on ourselves when we're the only ones capable of living our lives.
