Alternative music author Alexandros Anesiadis encyclopaedic new book about melodic punk bands, ‘We can be the new wind’, is available now from Earth Island Books

With over 160 bands interviewed and even more reviewed, the result is a total of more than 1000 essential 'pop-punk' bands covered in this hefty book. Consisting of 826 pages packed with information, photos and gig flyers from all your favourite bands, all wrappd up in original cover art by Brian Walsby, this is an essential guide to 80's alt-rock.

The book has been flying out all over the scene and getting a great response. Here we see cover illustrator, Brian Walsby, with the two limited edition art posters that accompany the book, as well as Peter Blake (the Hard-Ons), Mike Gitter (XXX fanzine), Scott Feinstein (Shadow 15) and Gary Lee Conner (Screaming Trees) with their copies.

'We can be the new wind' is the follow up to Alex Anesiadis previous book, 'Crossover, The Edge, Where hardcore, punk and metal collide' and is available direct from Earth Island Books store, along with posters, bookmarks and other goodies, or from most bookstores - both bricks and mortar and online, as well as good alternative record stores, such as All Ages (London), Kriminal (Newport), Coretex (Berlin), Radiation (Rome), Born Bad (Paris), Scarecrow (Athens) and Lotus (Thessaloniki).

Bands covered include 7 Seconds, Uniform Choice, Agent Orange, All, Down By Law, Big Drill Car, The Dickies, Chemical People, Government Issue, Rites of Spring, Dinosaur Jr, Embrace, Gray Matter, Dag Nasty, Moving Targets, Supertouch, Goo Goo Dolls, Shudder to Think, Husker Du, Jones Very, Pegboy, Superchunk, The Doughboys, HDQ, Sink, Mega City Four, The Hard Ons, Life... Engineer Records is a truly independent alternative record label with over 400 rocking releases out in the world.

We believe punk rock is an ethic, even more than a sound, and have been promoting both brand new and well-known bands equally since our formation as Ignition Records back in 1999. The label is based in the southeast corner of England but has partners and distributers all over the world.

We are always looking for great bands and ways to promote our artists and their releases.
Please contact us if you can help in any way. Let's work together.

Join our mailing list to stay tuned for occasional updates on what's new in the Engineer Records family.

Thanks for joining!
