Triple label release for The Atlantic Union Project

We’re extremely pleased to announce that Sell The Heart Records (USA) and Shield Recordings (Europe) will be joining Engineer Records to release The Atlantic Union Project’s upcoming ‘3,482 Miles’ EP.

This absolute blast of a record will be available on sea glass coloured vinyl 12”, as well as CD and digital formats later in 2022, as we wait impatiently for the pressing plants to catch up.

In the meantime, this new melodic hardcore/post-punk band, comprised of veteran musicians, have launched a teaser video for the EP with Thoughts Words Action punk rock blog and then followed that with their first single, ‘The Actuary’, a dynamic and socio-politically rousing anthem, with the video premiering on RebelNoise.com

There will be a second digi-single and video, ‘Trustworthy’, released by all three labels on the 25th March.

Sell The Heart Records are an independent label based out of Berkeley, CA with a vinyl heavy attitude and a varied post-punk roster including Neckscars, Heavy Seas, Decent Criminal, Tulpa Luna, Middle-Aged Queers, RLND, Unconditional Arms, Jukebox Romantics, States of Nature and System Restore. Working with many other west coast labels and radio stations, Andy runs a podcast and vinyl club.

Shield Recordings is a punk & hardcore label from Tilburg in The Netherlands that have been putting out importnat releases for nearly twenty years now. Their roster of well over 100 records includes Antillectual, Make Do And Mend, Ducking Punches, Afterthefall, As Friends Rust, Harker, Wake The Dead, Custody, Astpai and Paranoid State. Gert-Jan runs a pan-european distro alongside the label.

We are very pleased to be working with these guys on this inspirational new release.

The Atlantic Union Project may be new to the scene, but this post-punk outfit’s members are all seasoned musicians who’ve been playing in hardcore bands for over 25 years. The aptly named group is formed by a core of veteran musicians from the UK collaborating with Craig Cirinelli (vocals) who lives in Boonton, NJ.

Cirinelli’s lineage in other acts is long (Elemae, World Concave, Damn This Desert Air, Hidden Cabins, Holler and the Hand). Not to be outdone, the UK contingent is equally impressive; David Gamage (guitar) played in Rydell, Couch Potatoes, Joeyfat and Come The Spring. Simon Goodrick (guitar) and Jamie Donbroski (drums) were both also in Come The Spring, as well as straight edge band Strength Alone, and Mark Wilkinson (bass) was in Come The Spring and Rydell, and before that, Rudedog and the BBMF’s. All that energy, accumulated knowledge and musical skill bursts out on The Atlantic Union Project’s upcoming 3,482 Miles EP.

The EP’s title has a special meaning, referring to the distance between Cirinelli in Boonton, NJ, and where the rest of TAUP’s members live in Brighton, England.

Written and recorded during the pandemic, with audio files between sent across the Atlantic, the resulting EP is a love letter to the hardcore music scene. Inspirations include all the greats, ranging from Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, and Descendents to Hot Water Music, Braid, and The Promise Ring.
