Datura are 'Tired' of socialising

david1170

WL//WH welcomes David Betancourt (guitar /vocals), Jake St. John (bass), and Tiffany Victoria (drums), the WenatcheeWashington-based Goth Post Punkers Datura back to the blog with a premiere of “Tired”, taken from the forthcoming sophomore album, “Songs From a Dark House,  the broodingly infectious “joyful soundtrack of your next nervous breakdown”, due out on  April 18, 2025, co-released by California‘s Sell the Heart RecordsPoland’s Bat-Cave Productions, and UK’s Engineer Records.

"The choice between socializing or avoiding contact with other humans has never been this difficult. When stress overcomes and burnout eats away at someone, we no longer have the strength to fight what is out of our control. We kneel to life’s ups, downs and arounds… leading us to loneliness, anxiousness and breaking point at any little mishap. Why not play the part to upbeat, melodic tune to add a touch of sarcasm to the mental destruction? Help the deconstruction or tear down to only start from the base and begin again. There is much to realize after being tired for so long." David Datura

Fueled with timeless ardent Rock’n’Roll passion and unabating brooding melancholy, the “negative state of mind” of “Tired” sparks off relentless trotting drum beats alongside thrumming bass lines, to set the urgent pulsing pace for flurries of moody blistering, ringing riffs, while a powerful outpouring from wistful anxious vocals unleashes the pent up tension felt by wanting to stay home rather than socialize with a beautifully high pitched and cathartic ‘ooo woo ooo’ finale, to reawaken listeners’ to the poignant feelings of a romantic sound nostalgia that was never lost.

Engineer Records is a truly independent alternative record label with over 400 rocking releases out in the world.

We believe punk rock is an ethic, even more than a sound, and have been promoting both brand new and well-known bands equally since our formation as Ignition Records back in 1999. The label is based in the southeast corner of England but has partners and distributers all over the world.

We are always looking for great bands and ways to promote our artists and their releases.
Please contact us if you can help in any way. Let's work together.

Join our mailing list to stay tuned for occasional updates on what's new in the Engineer Records family.

Thanks for joining!
