About this Release

Engineer is very proud to be releasing the long awaited CD version of Planes Mistaken For Stars’ classic 7″ “Fucking Fight”. Originally a vinyl 7″ only release on DimMak records from the USA, these two songs were recorded in the period between the bands first self titled CD and the “Knife in the Marathon” CD, both on Deep Elm records.

This is the first time these songs have been available on CD format and this short, but very sweet CD Single will hopefully allow many more people to be blown away by the mix of intensity and beauty that Planes Mistaken For Stars can create.

There can be few people in the hardcore scene who haven’t heard of Planes Mistaken For Stars, mainly due to their two CD album’s on Deep Elm records and their incredible “Fuck With Fire” full length on No Idea records. Add to these appearances on several EP’s and compilations including Emo Diaries Chapter 2 and a split CD with Appleseed Cast and Race Car Riot. Between their debut self titled CD and the bands second CD, “Knife in the Marathon”, there was a noticeable change in sound. “Fucking fight” bridges the gap nicely, mixing equal parts of the first CD’s gentle, more touching moments with the second CD’s full-on, screaming mania. Simultaneously melodic and grinding, screaming and crooning, chaotic and peaceful, with lyrics that are a good deal more poetic than many other bands. This is what hardcore is all about.

“Fucking Fight” is available for a special low price and features some amazing artwork on the actual CD body as well as all new artwork throughout the packaging.
